The Gulfstream II originally came on the scene in 1967, as an updated version of the popular Gulfstream model. The popularity of this series has resulted in the Gulfstream versions III, IV and V, but the Gulfstream II continues to be a popular choice in business charters as well. The main draw of this plane, besides its superb performance and exquisite interior, is the ability to fly from continent to continent without refueling. This makes the Gulfstream II one of the top choices in trans-Atlantic as well as trans-continental flights. The interior of the cabin is large enough to fit up to 14 passengers and a two-man crew, with five large passenger windows on either side and a fully enclosed lavatory. The ample seating and cargo space makes the Gulfstream II one of the most comfortable for ultra long-range flights.

The Citation Mustang is the lightest aircraft in the Citation series, but it was also the first aircraft of its class to be certified by the FAA. This newest addition to the Cessna fleet offers a first-class, albeit compact, ride all the way. The Citation Mustang is built for speed, with two Pratt and Whitney 615 turbo engines that offer a range of up to 1150 miles. This light aircraft seats four comfortably and comes equipped with an enclosed lavatory. The plane was certified in 2006 and continues to be one of the most popular charter aircraft due to its classy appearance inside and out and its cost effectiveness.

The Pilatus PC12 is a popular charter aircraft for very short jaunts, due to its limited range and slower speeds. However, the comfort of this aircraft, combined with superb performance, thanks to the addition of winglets, makes this a popular charter aircraft for a specific crowd. Development of the Pilatus PC12 was originally announced in 1989 at the National Business Aircraft Association’s annual convention. The announcement was followed by the introduction of the aircraft in 1991. Certification of the Pilatus PC12 was delayed due to the revamping of the wings. The final certification was provided in 1994 by both Swiss and U.S. organizations. Today, the Pilatus PC12 is in demand for many types of business commutes.

The King Air 100 series was announced in 1969, after success with the King Air 90 series just a few short years before. The King Air was originally crafted to be a staff/utility transport aircraft according to U.S. Army requirements. The plane was eventually ordered by the U.S. army, but subsequent modifications made it a good choice as a charter aircraft as well. This plane is a bit larger than the King Air 90 series, seating two more passengers and providing a bit more cabin space. It also features a reduced wing span and larger rudder for smooth flights of a slightly shorter range.
